AI pre-analysis turnaround
The project and the problem.
An independent automotive advisory platform that pairs AI analysis with certified expert validation, so drivers can spot overpriced repair quotes and avoid work they don't need.
Drivers who receive a repair quote have almost no way to judge whether it's fair. Garages hold all the expertise, and asking the people doing the work whether the work is necessary is a built-in conflict of interest. Carvise needed a platform that could deliver a fast, trustworthy second opinion — combining AI speed with real human accountability — across multiple languages for Belgium and Luxembourg.
- Give drivers a fast, independent second opinion on repair quotes
- Combine AI speed with certified-expert accountability
- Ship the whole experience in EN, FR, and NL for Belgium & Luxembourg
The approach and process.
We built a two-stage advisory pipeline: an AI pre-analysis that reads the quote and vehicle context in about two minutes, followed by a certified expert who validates or corrects the AI before anything reaches the driver. Nothing is auto-published — a human always signs off.

Understanding the Trust Problem
2 weeksThe hard part of Carvise was never the code — it was trust. We spent the first phase mapping exactly where drivers lose confidence: the quote, the jargon, the conflict of interest. That research shaped the core rule of the product: AI can be fast, but a human always signs off.
Driver journey + trust-gap map · AI-plus-expert pipeline spec · Multilingual (EN/FR/NL) content model · Roadmap with the expert-validation gate marked as non-negotiable

Design System
3 weeksWe designed a calm, reassuring interface — this is a product people reach for when they're stressed and possibly being overcharged. Clarity over cleverness on every screen, in three languages.
Figma design system, calm and trust-first · Quote-submission and results flows · Localized layouts for EN / FR / NL · Accessibility + mobile-first specs

Foundation & i18n
3 weeksNext.js + TypeScript with internationalization wired in from the first commit, not bolted on later. Auth, the submission pipeline, and a Postgres schema modeling quotes, vehicles, and expert reviews.
Production infrastructure · i18n across the whole app (EN/FR/NL) · Auth + quote-submission flow · Postgres schema for quotes, vehicles, reviews

The AI + Expert Pipeline
4 weeksThe heart of the product. We built the AI pre-analysis to read a quote and return structured findings in about two minutes, then routed every result into an expert review queue. The expert can confirm, correct, or override before anything is published to the driver.
AI pre-analysis of quotes (pricing, necessity, alternatives) · Expert review queue with confirm / correct / override · Structured, plain-language recommendation output · Stripe billing for paid analyses

The reasoning and the value.
We turned a driver's most stressful moment — an unexplained repair quote — into a two-minute AI analysis backed by a real expert, saving people an average of €480 each time.
Carvise is live at carvise.ai, giving drivers an independent second opinion that saves an average of €480 per analyzed quote and flags roughly 68% of quotes as overpriced or containing unnecessary work — with AI results in minutes and expert sign-off inside 24 hours.
AI + expert pipeline
A two-stage flow where AI does the fast first pass and a certified expert validates every result before it reaches the driver. Speed without abandoning accountability.
€480 average saving per quote
Independent analysis that consistently identifies overpricing and unnecessary line items, saving drivers real money on real repairs.
68% of quotes flagged
More than two-thirds of submitted quotes were found to be overpriced or to contain work that wasn't needed.
Multilingual by design
Built for Belgium and Luxembourg from day one — EN, FR, and NL across the whole experience, not just the marketing pages.
Sub-24-hour expert turnaround
AI results land in ~2 minutes; a certified expert signs off within 24 hours — fast enough to act before authorizing a repair.
Repair coordination
Optional hand-off to vetted partner garages, so the advice can turn into an actual fix without the driver starting over.
What changed.
A side-by-side of what the client had before we engaged, and what we shipped.
- A driver got a repair quote and had no independent way to tell if it was fair
- The only people who could judge the work were the ones selling it
- Second opinions meant driving to another garage and losing another afternoon
- Pricing and necessity were buried in jargon most drivers can't parse
- No fast option — comparing quotes took days of phone calls
- Belgium/Luxembourg drivers had no localized, trustworthy advisory service
- Upload a quote and get an AI pre-analysis in about two minutes
- A certified expert validates every result before the driver sees it — no unchecked AI
- An honest second opinion without setting foot in a rival garage
- Plain-language recommendations: what's fair, what's inflated, what's unnecessary
- Expert sign-off within 24 hours, fast enough to act before authorizing work
- A fully multilingual (EN/FR/NL) service built for the local market
Technology stack.
The tools behind the build, and the reasoning behind each choice.
Server-rendered, multilingual pages that load fast for stressed drivers checking a quote on their phone at the garage.
Money, pricing, and expert-review state all type-checked — the last domain where you want loose types.
Kept the calm, trust-first design consistent across three languages and every screen state.
Powers the ~2-minute pre-analysis of quotes — but never publishes directly; an expert always validates first.
Relational integrity across quotes, vehicles, experts, and reviews — and an audit trail of every expert decision.
Belgium and Luxembourg are multilingual by law and habit. The whole product speaks all three, not just the homepage.
Handles paid analyses and any coordination fees, with receipts localized per language.
